We’ve collected some of our favorite, and not-so favorite, tweets regarding #ComeyDay.
People thought it slightly suspicious that Trump hadn’t tweeted all morning.
Live look at Trump's handlers trying to keep him off Twitter. #ComeyDay #ComeyHearing pic.twitter.com/x3uS4zPQzH

But his son, Donald Trump Jr., certainly did.
So if he was a "Stronger guy" he might have actually followed procedure & the law? You were the director of the FBI, who are you kidding?😂
— Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) June 8, 2017
Oh, haha, yes, very funny, we’re all falling over laughing.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say: Comey knows more than you, Bro.
— Amanda Guinzburg (@Guinz) June 8, 2017
There were some people, albeit misinformed people, who criticized Comey.
#JamesComey:
— Twitt3r Is Racist (@Twitt3rIsRacist) June 8, 2017
-Leaked to press
-Let AG Lynch obstruct justice
-Commited perjury
-Politicized FBI
-Was afraid Trump would grab him#ComeyDay
Note to self: fact check is important.
We can’t tell whether this tweet is from the left or right. Before the whole Comey firing, some Democrats hated him for the double standard in the way he handled Clinton and Trump’s investigations. But afterwards, when it became clear that him testifying could be devastating for the president, a lot of Democrats began to warm up to him. Conversely, some Republicans appreciated the way he handled the investigations (potentially because it was a large factor in Trump’s election), but the way the Republicans on the Senate Intel. Committee treated him make it clear that they are quite invested in defending the President.
But much more who criticized McCain’s objectively awkward questioning:
Wait, does John McCain think the Russiagate and Clinton email investigations were the same investigation? #ComeyDay
— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) June 8, 2017
Not sure where John McCain is going with this. #ComeyDay pic.twitter.com/m9KHgBU2jh
— Wonkette (@Wonkette) June 8, 2017
"Sen. McCain, how many fingers am I holding up?"
— Caleb (@DibsOnTheGibbs) June 8, 2017
"Hillary's emails."#ComeyDay
McCain just humiliated himself to protect Trump, a man who called McCain weak because he was captured in war. #ComeyDay
— Pé Resists (@4everNeverTrump) June 8, 2017
Senator McCain, we all know that Trump insulted you before. A lot. And for a while it looked like you were going to be a lone Republican who stood for what he believed. So what happened? Oh, right - reelection bid.
On Comey’s “I don’t think I can answer that”
Cotton: Do you believe Trump colluded w/Russia?
— Nick Jack Pappas (@Pappiness) June 8, 2017
Comey: I shouldn't answer that in open session.
Translation: Lordy, yes.#ComeyDay
Here’s a tweet one longtime Trump advisor.
We could not verify that this is actually Robert Stone (due to the lack of verified checkmark) - however, take note of its many retweets. FBI Director’s memos generally can be given credibility, and besides recording the interaction in a memo, Comey did report the “alleged attempt” to senior officials at the FBI (note: not to the agents conducting the Flynn investigation).
Why didn't Comey report alleged attempt by @realDonaldTrump to obstruct justice at the time? Because it never happened! #nutjob
— Roger Stone (@RogerJStoneJr) June 8, 2017
And another tweet denying Trump’s obstruction of justice, pointing fingers again to Clinton:
FACT: the only person ever to ask Comey to drop an "investigation" was AG Loretta Lynch on behalf of Hillary Clinton. #ComeyDay
— Missy America (@Missy_America) June 8, 2017
this backfired on the Democrats in a rather epic way.
— RockPrincess (@Rockprincess818) June 8, 2017
No Obstruction of Justice from Trump
Yes Obstruction of Justice from Lynch #ComeyDay
“But her emails!!!” - every Republican right now
Wait. There’s no way. Paul Ryan criticizing Trump for once?
BREAKING: Speaker Paul Ryan says FBI director needs to be independent, says Trump unfamiliar with protocol, `just new to this'
— The Associated Press (@AP) June 8, 2017
Just kidding.
We’ll just leave you with a pretty great tweet from the NAACP.
